Binary Scarf

Description

My super-long, super-thick, and super-warm binary scarf!

I got so fed up with this project. It took exactly a year to make start to finish, with approximately a pound of yarn- white and black. It was too complicated for me to move, so for a whole year I was stuck with it taking up room on my desk. To add to my frustrations it also ended up too long- 70 inches!

The numbers are called 'binary' because it has only 1s and 0s. 8-digit binary (what you see here) is also known as computer code. Yes, these numbers actually mean something. No, I won't tell you what it says. But if you crack the code I will be seriously impressed! (Note: if you want to try, then you're going to need more info than you can get from the pictures. Note me!)

I think the pictures are self-explanatory, banning one: the one shaped like a serpent with sticks on the top. That's a picture of the scarf in progress- the sticks are my knitting needles (5- I was knitting in the round) and the hot pink thing is a marker for the end of the round (you may not see it at first glance- it's on the right)

Pattern: [link] but I made some changes.
Yarn: Caron One Pound; one in black and one in white
Needles: Size 9 dpn
Knitted in-the-round for what seemed like eternity.

This is so great and creative! You've probably already heard this; "There are only 10 types of people in this world: Those who understand binary and those who don't."
